Toahani is his Navajo clan name, which translates into "Near to Water".He attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, and then graduated from Arizona State University. He has won numerous awards at various Indian art shows including Santa Fe Indian Market,Iiteljorg Museum., and Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial.
